There are no words to describe what Luca Papi has achieved. At 2:21a.m. on Sunday, the Italian runner crossed the finish line at Expomeloneras with a huge smile on his face, after completing the Transgrancanaria 128 km in 27:23:20.
As if it were not enough to have covered this distance, with a demanding 7,500 meters of elevation gain, Luca Papi had proclaimed himself winner of the most challenging race of this event, the Transgrancanaria 360º, only a few hours before the start of the Transgrancanaria 128.
This is a record-breaking moment for the Transgrancanaria event: in the last few days, Papi has covered 393.6 kilometers -20,765 meters of elevation gain- in 77:37:20 hours. The Italian runner is the living proof of someone who belongs to another planet!
