- The Catalan runner conquers the island for the third consecutive year
- Polish Magda Laczak wins once again and overcomes the extreme heat conditions
Pau Capell and Magda Laczak win, once again, the Transgrancanaria 128 km. They successfully defended the title and overcame the extreme heat conditions of the island.
Pau Capell has done it again, he has conquered the island for the third consecutive year. An extraordinary performance from beginning to end. Only American Hayden Hawks during the first stretch of the course tried to contest the victory, although the American had to leave due to physical problems.
After Capell, the next to cross the finish line at Expomeloneras was Pablo Villa, Spanish champion of the RFEA 2018 and former champion of the Advanced in 2018. This has been his longest race to date. Canarian runner Cristofer Clemente came in third position leaving a Spanish podium behind him.
As for the female runners, Magda Laczak wins again. Last year, she wasn’t a strong candidate and she surprised everyone when she crossed the finish line in first place. Kaytlyn Gerbin, one of the favorite candidates, came in second place, followed by Fernanda Maciel at 16:02:01.
