The running in general and more specifically the trailrunning has become today one of the most participatory sports that are practiced around the world. The level within this sport grows exponentially and Spain is at the forefront of the trail running at a global level thanks to the great successes of the last world championships.
At the same time, Spain and with greater incidence in the Canary Islands, continues to climb positions in terms of obesity and children’s sedentary lifestyle. The Transgrancanaria can not remain oblivious to these data and has set itself the goal of promoting sport among the youngest children in 2019 and ensuring a future and a generational change and, in addition, to try to create healthier habits among the youngest. Sport, nature, health and ultimately healthy life habits for young children.
The Transgrancanaria, which will hold its twenty edition from 20 to 24 February 2019, will have seven distances: Transgrancanaria 360, Transgrancanaria 128 km, Advanced 65 km, Marathon 42 km, Starter 30 km, and the already mentioned Promo, Trans family and Youth, which shares a distance of 17 km.
