Transgrancanaria will open registration period on July 5th with important modifications

The event will extend its celebration to a full week, with races held every day from Wednesday to Sunday, with Parque Sur de Maspalomas as the finish line for the major distances

Three months after the 20th anniversary celebration, Transgrancanaria is already planning the 2023 edition of an event which will be stacked with new features, soon to be announced by the race organizers.

The date is already set for 2023: the event will be held from the 22nd to the 26th of February, with a whole week loaded with the best trail running which will settle Gran Canaria as the center of the sport gathering thousands of runners, media, elite runners, brands and photographers from all over the world. The 7 races, which will have important course modifications, will remain to be the usual Classic, Advanced, Marathon, Starter, Promo, Kids and the Vertical Kilometer El Gigante, which will repeat as the start of the event after this year’s successful debut.

It will be a week stacked with trail running, starting on Wednesday with the Vertical Kilometer in Agaete, and resuming with the rest of the races which may have relevant modifications in the course, dates and starting locations. The organization is now working on these modifications, which will be confirmed before the registration opens on July 5th, at noon (local time).

The organization is ready to confirm that Transgrancanaria will be extended to a five-day event, with races every day, new locations and with the spectacular finish line at Parque Sur de Maspalomas for the major distances, as well as the Trail Zone and bib collection at the majestic Convention Center Expomeloneras.

As well as the last years, the organization will set an initial discount period in the race entries, as well as special discounts for the residents in the Canary Islands, those runners who apply for the Transcapacidad category and the elite runners. As a new feature, the runners will have the chance to finance their registration in two periods for the Advanced and Classic races.

All these ingredients will be included in the new program of Transgrancanaria, which will be part of the Spartan Trail World Championship and the center of the world’s trail running focus for a full week.

Transgrancanaria is an event organized by Arista Eventos, with the sponsorship of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the Tourism and Sports boards, Promotur – Canary Islands, and the town halls of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Fred. Olsen Express, Expomeloneras, RS Sonocom and 226ERS remain as the main private sponsors.
