Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Town Hall launches a new Transgrancanaria Kids edition

The race for children will take place on Friday morning, 26 February, at Las Canteras beach (La Puntilla)

Fuente Umbría will sponsor the event, which will have different “bubble races” for different schools

This year, children will once again have the opportunity to take part in the Transgrancanaria HG. The Municipal Sports Institute of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, headed by Aridany Romero, will be involved with this special event. As a prelude to the main race of the event, children will start the race from Las Canteras Beach hours before the Transgrancanaria starts off.

Fuente Umbría will not only sponsor the Transgrancanaria Kids this year too, it will also cater for water for the duration of the event. All children taking part in the race will receive a runner’s T-shirt and refreshments courtesy of the water company.

In line with the extraordinary situation we are living, the event will of course meet all health protocols necessary for the race. As organisers, Vivac Aventura will be in charge of contacting schools and creating “bubbles”, so that students from different schools don’t have any contact, thus reducing the risk of infection. Entries for the event are free of charge.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria promises an absolute magical setting for this fourth edition of the Transgrancanaria Kids. All children taking part in the race will be able to do outdoor sport, which is particularly important now given the situation. And they will be doing all that with the impressive beach of Las Canteras as background.

The trail and distance will be arranged so that safety will reign during that Friday morning, 26 February, for the Transgrancanaria Kids. After the race, children will still have more sports to enjoy, as the arch of the Transgrancanaria HG will start only a few hours later for those who go on in the great adventure that will take them all the way to the south of the island.
