Petzl brightens up Transgrancanaria

Europe’s leading brand in artificial lighting headlamps, new sponsor of the race – The brand debuts the Petzl NAO RL, the new trail icon designed in collaboration with François D’Haene, which offers 1,500 lumens and weighs only 145 grams.

Petzl joins the Transgrancanaria family. Europe’s leading headlamp manufacturer for professional and sporting activities has become the new sponsor of the race, where optimal artificial illumination is essential for the athletes taking part in races such as the Classic, which will begin at midnight on Friday 24 February.

The arrival of Petzl also coincides with the launch of their new NAO RL model, an outstanding choice for the performance of the Transgrancanaria trails. This headlamp, designed in partnership with French trail runner François D’Haene, is a new symbol for trails and ultra trails, with 1,500 lumens of power weighing only 145 grams. Its Reactive Lighting technology automatically adapts the light output to optimise battery use and enhance visual comfort. This headlamp has a guaranteed minimum battery life of 5 hours.

Petzl was founded as a family business in the heart of the French Alps, and over time has become Europe’s largest manufacturer of personal protective equipment for those who pursue their sporting or professional careers in darkness or at height. Runners such as François D’Haene, winner of several editions of the world’s biggest races like UTMB or Hardrock 100, rely on the brand to run at night with the best guarantees.

The Transgrancanaria is sponsored by the institutions Cabildo de Gran Canaria through Turismo de Gran Canaria and Gran Canaria European Sport Island, the Government of the Canary Islands with Promotur – Islas Canarias, Maspalomas Costa Canaria, Instituto Municipal de Deportes de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Town Hall of Tejeda; and the companies SWE, Fred. Olsen Express, Hospitales Universitarios San Roque, Expomeloneras, 226ERS and Sonocom Audiovisuales, as well as the collaboration of Provital, Fuente Umbría, Emicela, Pepsi Max, Coros, Petzl, Vivac Aventura, Inerza, Aloe Canteras Hotel and Tirma.
