The impressive Roque Nublo will host the start of the 360º

  • 75 courageous people will start from the Roque Nublo, to get to the heart of a +250 kilometres adventure
  • Both, start and finish lines will be located in emblematic points of Gran Canaria

The toughest distance of the Transgrancanaria HG brings up this year an unprecedented surprise of the history of this race. The bravest people will have the privilege to start the journey from one of the most iconic points of the Canaries, the Roque Nublo. It is the first time that a sports activity at this level starts from the Roque Nublo, place of worship to canarian people since immemorial time. The start of the Transgrancanaria 360º will be on 4th March at 9:00 am, which will allow admiring the stunning view of the island.

The impact on the ground will be minimum, as it will be restricted only for runners, organization and amateurs. The starting line will respect integrally the environment of the Parque Rural del Nublo and there will be no infrastructures. The commitment of all, participants and promoters of the race, is to keep the whole area tidy and not to leave any kind of residue. The Organisation will provide runners with a free bus to transfer them from Expomeloneras to the Roque Nublo.

The runners are yet unaware of the track and race profile, which will be revealed two weeks before the start of the Transgrancanaria. Nonetheless, it can be assured that it will be one of the most original editions, given its spectacular depart and ending locations. At the starting line, the Roque Nublo with 1800 metres above the sea level and declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO since 2005. At the finish line, the Faro de Maspalomas, the flashpoint of the activity in the south of the island and declared Asset of Cultural Interest by the Government of the Canary Island in 2005.

Transgrancanaria 360º favourite’s runners

This edition presents Luca Papi as the favourite in the male’s category, who has won the race twice. The Italian runner completed the task last year finishing also the Classic with almost no rest between the two modalities and his intention is doing it again. The presence of Imanol Aleson, Eugeni Roselló, Esteban García and Alex Fraguela is also noteworthy.  In the female category the two great favourites will be Esther Hernández and Marta Poretti. The Galician athlete will try to repeat the first place in the 2019 edition.
