Transgrancanaria 2021 confirms the 360º challenge with the sponsorship of WAA

The wildest race of the event will be held from February 24th to 28th in 2021 after the support of the French sports brand

It will be the fifth edition of a challenge which will introduce a totally different course and which will open the race entries period in September 16th

The doubt is finally cleared for the 2021 Transgrancanaria HG edition. After opening the registration period six weeks ago, the organization is pleased to announce that the 360º challenge will also be held next year. This is possible thanks to the sponsorship of WAA, the French brand which will support the most extreme race in Spain.

WAA, which has been previously bonded with Transgrancanaria sponsoring the Marathon distance, will join the 360º challenge as its philosophy matches the profile of this race’s runners: ultrarunning lovers which are perfectly suitable for their clothes and accesories.

The registration opening of the 360º challenge was pending on a viability test, which has finally been approved. This way, the lovers of this kind of races will be pleased, as so is the organization, which finds in this challenge one of the most exciting and passionate sides of the event. The 360º race requires a high amount of resources and staff, and due to the contribution of WAA and the great interest shown by the runners, the 2021 edition is finally confirmed.

Race entries for the WAA 360º will be available in September 16th. Transgrancanaria is working in a totally new course which will have exciting elements which have never be seen in the event. As usual, the track won’t be released until a few days before the race gets started.

This announcement coincides with the #GranCanaria1000K The Ultimate Challenge which is being completed by Luca Papi. This afternoon, the Italian runner has completed the first of his 4 loops around the island, which will take him approximately two weeks to finish. The runner from the WAA team has already completed more than 320 kilometers around the island. Papi has won three editions of the 360º challenge and has already confirmed his participation for 2021.
