In 2024, for the tenth consecutive year, Maspalomas will host the finish line of the longest races due to its convenience for both runners and fans. Samuel Henríquez, Sports Councilor of the Municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, expressed his pride in continuing to be part of the Transgrancanaria.

Maspalomas will celebrate ten years with the Transgrancanaria and once again host the final finish line of the longest races in the event. The Sports Councilor of the Municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Samuel Henríquez, announced this and expressed his pride in the Municipality taking part again in this prestigious event, one of the most important mountain races in the world. The Southern councillor also emphasized the importance of sports tourism.

Maspalomas will be the chosen location to raise the spectacular finish line arch through which all finisher runners will pass, including those of the Classic race starting in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Advanced and the Marathon. Maspalomas is a perfect place for all sporting events because of the good atmosphere and reception it has among elite and community runners. Parque Sur is surrounded by spacious gardens that allow tracking and large screen live playback of the different sporting challenges. The location also offers almost all the services that participants may need and has easy access for both pedestrians and vehicles.

Henríquez was delighted to repeat as one of the key scenarios of the mountain race. He stated that theTransgrancanaria is undoubtedly one of the most important trail races in the world and having Maspalomas as the epicenter adds value to the race and the Municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The counselor, who is a regular runner, admitted his love for this sport. He affirmed that the race, starting in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, crossing the interior of the island with the guardian Roque Nublo and finishing again in the sea in Maspalomas, is unparalleled worldwide. He also pledged the Municipality´s ongoing support for the race.

The Transgrancanaria Director, Carlos Torrent, pointed out that Maspalomas is the ideal place to be the venue for Transgrancanaria. He stated that it is a great location for both locals and visitors, as it is easy to get to and a fantastic place to celebrate and partying at the end. For more than 2,500 runners and their companions coming from outside Gran Canaria, it is a dream location to spend a sports and vacation week with good weather, the widest offer of accommodation in Gran Canaria and comfortable access to both services and connections. He also expressed his gratitude to the Municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana for their unwavering support over the years with the finish line in Maspalomas.

Throughout these ten years, some of the best runners in the history of this sport have crossed the finish line, such as Fernanda Maciel, Anton Krupricka, Ryan Sandes, Nuria Picas, Pau Capell, Pablo Villa, Azara García de los Salmones, Caroline Chaverot, Timothy Olson, Tom Evans, and the two winners of the last edition, the American Courtney Dauwalter and the Catalan Andreu Simón.
