Transgrancanaria is once again committed to live broadcasting of mountain races with a media coverage never seen before for a trail race in Spain. A total of 16 cameras will be covering 17 hours of broadcasting to offer the complete Marathon and a significant part of the Classic race. This edition will have two exceptional athletes as commentators: Sara Alonso, winner of the Marathon in 2022, and Fernanda Maciel, winner of the Starter in 2010 and the Classic in 2012.
Albert Jorquera will again be hosting the event and will have the support of Alonso and Maciel, both of whom know perfectly the course that Pau Capell, Courtney Dauwalter, Shen Jiasheng, Claudia Tremps, Antonio Martínez, Rachel Drake, Jazmine Lowther and Nuria Gil will face.
The races will be covered by up to 16 different cameras. Three of them will be carried by runners and another two by cyclists who will be with the top finishers, as well as two drones and a hot head installed on a crane at the finish line. During the races, there will also be a reporter who will be at some of the main refreshment points to get to know the atmosphere and the evolution of the athletes.
The media coverage, directed by the production company Evasión TV, will start on Friday 24th February at 9am with the start of the Marathon, which will begin half an hour later from Tejeda. The broadcast will last until 14.30 when the main runners are expected to have crossed the finish line in Maspalomas.
At 11.30 p.m. on the same Friday night, it will connect again to offer the spectacular start of the main event from the beach of Las Canteras, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which will begin at midnight on Saturday 25th February. The first live connection will last until 1.30 a.m., to be restarted again from 7.30 a.m. until 5 p.m. non-stop, and it will follow the Advanced category as well.
The races will be broadcasted through Transgrancanaria’s Youtube channel (www.youtube.com/@
